Since it’s introduction in the mid 1960’s, to its technological evolution in the 1990’s, Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) has gone on to revolutionise the field of trenchless technologies and have major impacts on the construction and utility sectors at large.

We pride ourselves on providing unrivalled quality of service. As a result, we are fortunate to have a client list which includes many of the UK's leading construction companies, utility providers and Government bodies, as well as numerous SME's and private landowners.

The environmentally responsible method of utility installation

Direct comparisons with HDD vs traditional methods demonstrated in completed studies show that HDD achieves an average productivity of 1.91 L.F./minute compared to traditional open-cut, which achieved an average productivity of 0.43 L.F./minute - This means that the real world advantages of opting for horizontal directional drilling could be 4x greater productivity.

.

Increase the productivity of your works by 300% with HDD

From rivers and marsh lands to motorways and rail lines - Open trench solutions have many limitations when terrain is difficult, or infrastructure is in the way,

The HDD method of installation can limit or entirely remove all of these potential issues and most importantly, Horizontal Directional Drilling can go places open cut options cannot. By using HDD, we can place pipes under roads, rail lines and rivers with minimal disruption to the structures and environment above.  MTA Drill Tec have an abundance of experience where specialised crossings are concerned, we have installed pipes in locations ranging from the wide tidal sections of the Trent to mainline rail tracks.

MTA Drill Tec can get your pipes into position with little disturbance to the local community or environment despite any natural or man made obstacles that you may find in the way.
